September Newsletter from Iron Realms Entertainment

September roars in, leaving an action-packed August in its wake. This month's newsletter is filled with what has happened and what is coming.

LusterniaElf Bard
From the Void came Morgfyre the Legion, an Elder God who used a divine artifact to disguise himself as Hajamin the Golden Lord. Not until mortals stormed the Temple of Hajamin and freed the divine artifact from the traps and tricks that hid it, was Morgfyre revealed in his true form: an amorphous god who had mutated through the dark rites he performed to stay alive in the Void. It was later learned he was one of the Twelve Traitors during the Elder Wars. As for Hajamin’s fate, it appears his essence was consumed by Morgfyre.

Aetolia
Enhancements to the guild, city, and order organizations came to being this month, based off suggestions made by the organization leaders. Forging received its main liaison change, with new skills, including ways to smelt and repair existing weapons and armour. Our coders have also begun a focused effort on bug extermination. Fumigation will continue over the next several weeks, leaving a cleaner, better running Aetolia. A celestial blessing was bestowed on Morganth and Talonnb who had a magnificent performance in the recent starfall event. September will see the release of several, extensive changes for how the undead and vampires heal afflictions. More details will be released soon.

Imperian
The most anticipated news was the upcoming shifting of skills. Concoctions is slated to become a general skillset, with the Hunters receiving a new version of Trailblazing, and Arboreals will get a new skillset, Naturalism. Naturalism will be a powerful boon to the Arboreals, and includes the ability to harness the forces of the weather, even causing tornadoes, and will bring them even closer to the floral bounty of Aetherius. A string of 36 coachman inns was released, allowing for easy transportation across the land. Many changes were implemented to guilds, cities, and orders based on feedback from the leaders of those organizations. Zosero, Lynn, and Mivani won the month long literary contest held by Salamis Angello for Sienna's Cathedral library. We are beginning work on an extensive new profession system, which will be explained and released over the next couple of months.

Achaea
Following the unnaturally long solar eclipse that ended in late July, anonymous Achaean scribes revealed the entirety of the events surrounding the eclipse, surely one of the most complex and massive sagas in Achaea's modern history. In its aftermath, two new areas of Achaea were revealed: the long-hidden Adryn's Keep, a feudal keep besieged by a hate-filled bandit and his gang, and the secluded Xhaiden Dale, where monks of the Light coexist with the sinister Ganeve tribe and a peaceful village of tiger-like Rajamalans. On a particularly joyful note, Vastar, the long-unseen God of the Skies, has returned to grace Achaea with his presence once more. Welcome back, Vastar! The Effigy of Victory, held previously by the powerful northern city of Ashtan, has been bestowed upon Shallam after that city's triumph in the game of Capture the Flag, a thrilling competition of extended melee combat that occurs only twice a year in Achaea. Though Shallam held herself (as well as alliances with other cities) together admirably for the win, that unity dissolved afterwards into intriguing political turmoil as the City of Light continues her ongoing struggle to define her ideology and governing style in these turbulent modern times. Behind the scenes during the month of August, we launched a partial and complex rewrite of the existing codebase for increased extensibility and performance, in preparation for exciting new additions to come. In the month of September, Achaeans can expect to see our building team continue to release new areas of high quality, and a return of focus to combat-related balancing and improvements.

Thank you for your continuing support and until next month.

Sincerely,

Matt Mihály
