Icons may be aligned to a particular slot or phase in the underlying cycle of
the plane of Nishnatoba. This cycle has 24 slots, or phases which correspond to
the first day after the Orphean Serenade (1), the second day after (2), and so
forth, all the way up to 24, which would be the last phase before the Orphean
Serenade.

How?
----
The House leader may align the House Icon to a particular phase via HOUSE
ICONPHASE NOW. Others, including the House Leader, may view the current phase
in Nishnatoba, and the phase of the House Icon, via HOUSE ICONPHASE. The
'iconphase' power is one that may be given to positions by the House Leader.

Until the icon is given a phase, it has no phase. That is, there is no
default phase. If there's no phase set, then there's no phase. Sorry,
we know this seems obvious to many, but to some, apparently not clear.

The icon phase may not be changed more often than every 11 Achaean months.

Why?
----
When your House Icon has not had a phase set, then it may be damaged at all
times by attackers. Set a phase, and the Icon becomes totally invulnerable to
attack EXCEPT during the phase period, where its phase matches the current
phase of Nishnatoba.

The Downside
------------
Attackers that start with a full complement of Alchemists and near the
beginning of the phase have a very good chance of successfully destroying any
icon, even one at full power.

Attacking Effectiveness
-----------------------
Either an attack damages an icon or it doesn't. If it damages the icon,
then it damages the icon in the same way, no matter whether the icon is
in phase, or just doesn't have a phase set, or anything else at all.
No other considerations affect the rate or nature of damage excepting
the number of Alchemists involved in the assault, and the time spent
attacking.

Attacking Downside
------------------
There is no way to know for sure when your target's icon is in phase except by
attacking. If the attack works, great, let the attack continue - it's in phase.
If not, then try again later. Also, the phase could be changed.
