The art of cooking is not as simple as one would imagine. With hundreds
of types of foods and spices, the possible combinations are limitless.

To become a professional chef, you must be trained by the craft guild of
a major city. Go to the craft guild office and BUY COOKING PERMIT. The
craft guild assesses a fee of 100 credits for the permit, which does not
expire. Once a licensed chef, you will have basic ability in the Cooking
miniskill. The more you train in this skill, the higher quality your
food will be.

To produce an item, simply purchase a cooking recipe and the ingredients
required to make the item as indicated by the recipe. Then DESIGN <RECIPE>
CRAFT to create your item. You will need to have a stove in the room and a
metal cooking pot in hand.

Once you achieve the level of Adept in the craft, you will gain the
coveted ability to design items of your own. This process is a bit more
involved:

1) Purchase a blank formula from the cooking guild in your city
or council.

2) Acquire an item recipe of the same type as the item you wish to
design (cake, pie, fish, etc.), then DESIGN <FORMULA> COPY <RECIPE>.
This will make a copy of the existing recipe on your blank formula.

3) Customize your formula's appearance when carried, when viewed in a
room, and when examined closely:
      DESIGN <FORMULA> APPEARANCE <DESCRIPTION>,
      DESIGN <FORMULA> DROPPED <DESCRIPTION>,
DESIGN <FORMULA> EXAMINED (this will take you into the Imperian editor).

Keep in mind that your plan must be the -exact- same thing as the recipe
you use. Using a 'cake' blueprint to make a 'steak dinner', for
instance, will not work. Nor will making a 'rice dish' from a 'fruit
basket.' We keep lists of common recipes we don't have that people want,
and every now and then will put in a bunch of new recipes. Further, keep
in mind that the DROPPED description must contain the item type in it.
Finally, do not try to make food that we would not have in Imperian,
such as pizza, french fries, big macs, etc.

4) Take your design plan to a craft guild office and DESIGN <FORMULA>
SUBMIT it for evaluation. The craft guild will review your plan and make
an item recipe from it.

5) When the item recipe is finished, you will be notified by mail that
your recipe is ready to pick up. Return to the craft guild office and
DESIGN REQUEST <RECIPE>, using the recipe number specified in the letter
from the craft guild. The craft guild charges a fee for the creation of
the recipe based on the complexity and opulence of your design, but will
be a minimum of 4000 gold.
