5.5 Death
Death in Imperian is not a permanent thing. Though it does cause you to lose some of your hard-earned experience, it isn't something to overly panic about. There are multiple methods of returning to life.
When you die, you will immediately lose a small percentage of your total experience. As your body fails you, your spirit will be sent to the underworld. Now as you are a special soul in this world, Avasyu has clearly marked your soul, allowing you to escape the clutches of death, should you so wish.
The underworld is a vast place, and one way of escaping is the ferryman, Charon. You must find a way to gain two tokens (only one if you are a newbie!) and buy passage from the underworld to the realm of the living. If you can find the room where he stands, the command FERRY DEPARTURES will inform you of where he can take you.
As an alternative to using the ferryman to escape, you can also return back to life by focusing on Aryana, the Moon of Life. Simply FOCUS ARYANA and wait - if you are a member of city that controls the powerful Obelisk of Aryana, this process will take about 30 seconds. Otherwise it will take roughly 4 minutes.

There are other methods by which you can obtain tokens. Just explore and try to find them on your own.
The thing to keep in the forefront of your mind when you die is that as long as you know why you died, and as long as you learn something from the death, it was worthwhile. Experience in gaming terms is lost, but it can just be gained back. Knowledge on the other hand, is priceless, and knowledge of your skills and the game is the single most important element to success.
After you have died and returned to the living realm, you will be "walking in the grace of the Gods". Typing STAT will show you this, and typing GRACED will show you everyone who is online who walks in grace. What this conditions means is that you can neither perform offensive abilities or be hurt by them. This state will last for only about two minutes, unless you are below the Overall Level of 21, in which case it will be semi-permanent.
When you have gathered yourself together and are ready to embrace life fully again, type RENOUNCE GRACE. Fear not though, the Gods will not be upset by this.
