The Corner of Wide Eyed and Light Hearted

We stood on the corner of Wide Eyed and Light Hearted.
Fireflies danced like coins falling from pockets,
Tumbling in the velvet dusk.
We could have dipped our fingers into their light
And painted through the air
But we didn't, because we were too struck with wonder
To take advantage of opportunity.
He led me into a shattered building
Where the broken rafters seemed to be a crushed ribcage
But I thought it looked more like a baby bird.
I taught him simplicity and happiness.
He taught me love.
It is enough.

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Lupar, in the year 607 AF.
