The dusky sky forms a wondrous repose against the sea
Heralding the night, the sun sinks beneath the depths
Eyes turn from the beauty above to the terror beneath

Ornately suctioned arms still within the deep, murky blue
Cold eyes gaze over the wine-dark reaches
Terrifying grasp, always reaching, catching, devouring
Obscuring, inky escape blinds those that pursue
Pulling itself towards its prey, no hope for the hunted
Undulating form a formidable sight
Stealth with such mass, a key advantage

He has no second thoughts, no remorse
Always moving, hunting, growing
Schools of the sea learn a hard lesson this day

Never ending search for sustenance
Over sand, rock, and sunken ship he swims

Forever bound to the deep blue
Relentless in the pursuit of survival
Instinct drives his every move
Eyes always searching for the next conquest
No fear, no hesitation, he attacks
Death comes swiftly from eight sides
Salute you, I do, fearsome hunter of the sea
