Bittersweet

Bittersweet it is to make a new start
To let it all go, to find a new life
It is the breaking and renewing of my heart

Eventually all things, people must part
If either it be through death or through strife
Bittersweet it is to make a new start

It goes through the soul, an unerring dart
the parting of my spirit by a knife
It is the breaking and renewing of my heart

A choice had to be made, though it tasted tart
Hurt feelings and lack of insight were rife
Bittersweet it is to make a new start

A new way to go, a new way to chart
It it was wrong, repent in the afterlife
It is the breaking and renewing of my heart

Rather than go the way I went, I chose art
A choice I made for the mandolin and fife
Bittersweet it is to make a new start
It is the breaking and renewing of my heart

Penned by my hand on the 13th of Sarapin, in the year 631 AF.
