Remembrance

In searching history's record,
There have been groups of men
Who sought to honour their great Lords
Through prayer and with pen.

But some of Those who were revered,
Now many have forgot
For there were many Divine sons,
And daughters lost to plots.

Like that of Mhaldor and Bal'met
A terrible mistake,
To bring upon the world a threat
That caused so much heartache.

Not only were there great Gods slain,
But others left the realm,
The Empress to her Crystal plane
Leaving the world condemned.

The losses did not just stop there,
There were a great deal more,
Through sacrifice in our despair
Did Maya end the war.

Not all that ends in tears is wrong
Not all is as it seems,
Humanity still lives on strong,
Pursuing myriad dreams.

And so we learned to keep up hope
To patch our wounds and live,
In searching for their ways to cope,
Some found ways to forgive.

Remember those who sacrificed
And those who lent support,
For if left to our own device
We'd surely come up short.

Penned by my hand on the 21st of Chronos, in the year 631 AF.
