Not Much To Offer

Written by: Brigadier Gamoneterik Ikterik'tek

My heart unfurls
Though pearls of wisdom
Intone, "Be still, lest ye scare the girl."

Yet here I remain,
Bored enough of violence
To restrain from participation in this dreary war.

My love's anticipation yearns for more.
As affections ebb and flow, arriving at the shore
Of her reciprocation's desolate beach.

No more could my message reach her heart,
Than If I tried my hand at Darker Arts.

To start, I would need a fire
To kindle flames of drowned desire.

The apathy, the waiting, the blankness,
Does not portray a man with much to offer,

Yet my coffers are full
And I know a few jewellery stores.

Shallow as these gifts are,
A man cannot offer any more,
Who is so tired, tired of war.

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Valnuary, in the year 632 AF.
