Failure

What is to fail, and what is to succeed?
By what do we measure the mean?

Is it grabbing the highest, most bright star?
Or perhaps winning many a-grueling spar?

Yet I look at myself only to truly see
And, sadly, I am sure you'd agree

Outstretched arm falling short of the stars
Continuously humiliated in all spars

Watching as all the others pass me by
Tears of frustration within my eyes

For what can I do to truly 'succeed'?
How long do I watch, my heart to bleed?

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Scarlatan, in the year 645 AF.
