Subj: awakening

eyes open to light, I see an orange-glow above.
I blink away dust and sleep from my eyes
the gurgle of a stream nearby fills my ears
the smell of long-overgrown grasses fills my nose
The clank of fullplate echoes as my hand lifts,
a triad of claws visible, glinting in the light.
Dust flows from my arm, clothing long gone, items too.

Where am I? How long have I been asleep?
What is going on in the world now?
Who is still awaken. Am I alone again?
No. I sense a few friendly faces.
My mentor is awake.
I smell that this is my camp.
It's late evening.
I'm home so I'm okay.
I need to get my mask replaced.
I need my gloves too.
Is Narex okay?
Yes, she responds happily.
I must go to Lady Calanthris.

These thoughts swirl through my head as light fades.
I stand, dust spilling from my form, and take inventory

My quill. My cursed gauntlet. My armour. My weapons.
Nothing else.

I feel nervous, my memory is muddled, but many things remain
I shall seek my old friends.

'tis time for me to go.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Phaestian, in the year 645 AF.
