How I know You

I feel it,
Laid heavy in my bones...
Like thunder You are to me...

I smell it,
In the dew upon which the moss drinks...
For You alone for so long have forgiven our thirsts...

I hear it,
In my head-- it dances...
Just as the loon plays its sweet and haunting coo...

I see it,
With my own and fortunate eyes...
That in moments Your Dominance reclaims-- even the unwiling...

I taste it,
As the sweetness of life...
On the lips of lovers--
Spent on more than just spirits of elder or vine...

I know it,
By the rhythm of my heart...
For it beats with the strength of predator
And the fear of prey...

You are it All,
And I know You...

Not because I am mighty--
Rather it is because You have given unto the likes of us
As a Mother...

In sweetness, in rapture, in sorrow, and primality...
I know You,
Because You run through me like fire...
You dance in my hair as I stand upon the tor...

I know You...
For You are my Wildwood Queen...

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Glacian, in the year 647 AF.
