Battle Scars

Written by: Squire Kerria Lighthawk-Imperio, Shield Bearer

Everyone wages war,
where two hearts meet,
and personalities collide,
leaving behind an ever lasting scar.

Each heart has a home in the chest,
The soft flesh is the armour to protect it.
Always will there ever be a wound,
all preceding the next will confess.

What will your legacy be?

Will you be the scar that stings,
when memory sings its morose song?
Will you be the festering gash,
that bleeds when someone thinks of the past?
Will you be the scar that tightens the skin,
reminiscing sadly the person you once were?
or will you be the scar that is the friendly reminder,
of happy times since lost to the passage of time?

Remember well that living is a battle.
We are all comrades in arms.
Don't be the scar that continues to harm,
as that will always be how you are remembered.

Remembered.

Know you are a scar
in someones battle.
What scar you choose,
is how you will always be...

Remembered.

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Scarlatan, in the year 658 AF.
