Poetry News Post #4771

Art thou vexed?

Oh my, I hit a nerve.
Let's dissect this invective,
Amidst defective
Vitriol and histrionics,
The point was skipped, the meaning stripped and
Lost in selective perspective.
Trivial, vestigial, is that all you can bring?
Try harder, honey, your hasty quips
Hardly set these bells to ringing
Nor chiming, so don't waste your time, nor mine.
Not deriding, no claws, just chiding
And a flaw called into light.
Fidelity, high class and virtue you espouse?
A single stone so carelessly thrown
Could crack and fracture that lovely glass house.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Phaestian, in the year 664 AF.
