The Performer
A short story written in five haiku
by Raegus

Born in the grotto
Cradled in waves of music
He sings his first words.

Birds teach harmony
inspiration, his maestro,
dreams instruct in dance.

Eyes watching him now
pressures building fast within.
Without, they all wait.

Rising up, a cheer!
Pride wells up and overflows.
Appreciated.

Exhale, final bow.
His friends view him through blurred eyes.
Sings his last goodbye.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Daedalan, in the year 668 AF.
