Afternoon Reverie
~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~

Dry and cracking the stalks of dying grass quiver
Nourishment so far and unknown

Along the path of life, and growth
The trees once green stand barren

Earth and sky meet at some point
Waiting, the stars align

A thunderous crack resounds in the distance,
with a gust of wind, ebon clouds roll in

All of Nature groans and writhes in anticipation
This moment long awaited:

One drop of life forms after another, then another
The sweetest gift of all
Falls and sates the longing

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Mayan, in the year 678 AF.
