Dear Eagle

Tow Windsong

Trusted friend,
Beloved blood,
Fearless protector of Nature,
Playful Cub Mother.

You wore many hats over the years,
Many of them with ears.
You soared within our reach,
For quite a long time, but no longer.

You can only keep grand wings tucked for so long.
With a heavy heart, you leave us earthbound.

But as a shadow passes high above the vaulted oaks,
I hope that those you touched,
Their hearts flutter and a smile creeps across their face,
Knowing you keep watch on us from far above.

You will be missed, my friend.
Fly free and know we'll catch up someday.

Penned by my hand on the 2nd of Phaestian, in the year 682 AF.
