Poetry News Post #4898

My heart is not my own.

Addressed to: Miss Kiah S. Corso, of the Fiery Rose

My heart is not my own,
beyond my chest it's grown.
A raging sun so bright,
it shines eternal light.
Now darkness has no might,
it took to fearful flight.
Leaving me assured,
I have finally been cured.
Banished all things sad,
this disease I had.
Replaced by none but you,
a love divine and true.

My heart is not my own,
this truth I have been shown.
A simple cup of tea,
revealed for all to see.
A future you, a future me,
a cheerful unity.
Causing this strange prose,
for you my Fiery Rose.
This chapter now at close,
a new path we chose.

My heart is not my own,
into your's it has flown.
Hold it tight my dear,
put aside your fear.
Shed not a single tear,
for our path is lit and clear.
Side by side we stand,
facing forward hand in hand.

My heart is not my own,
not flesh nor even bone.
Like rhythmic ocean waves,
it's tune for you it plays.
Mortals left in daze,
it's symphony they praise.

My heart is not my own,
it's loss I won't bemoan.
For your love to share,
this price I bear.

My heart is not my own,
it beats for you alone.

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Chronos, in the year 683 AF.
