Ah, come tell me young Luminai, tell me why you hurry so
Hush now lad, hush and listen and his cheeks were all a glow
I bear orders from the Dawnlord get your sword and armour on
For the blades must be together by the rising of the dawn

By the rising of the dawn, by the rising of the dawn
For the blades must be together by the rising of the dawn

And come tell me young Luminai, where the gatherin' is to be
At the old spot by 'veil river quite well known to you and me
One more word for signal token whistle and we get to marchin' on
With your blade upon your shoulder by the rising of the dawn

By the rising of the dawn, by the rising of the dawn
With your blade upon your shoulder by the rising of the dawn

Out from many a mud wall cabin eyes were watching through the night
Many a Righteous heart was beating for the blessed warning light
Murmurs rang along the valleys to the eagle's lonely song
And a thousand blades were flashing by the rising of the dawn!

By the rising of the dawn, by the rising of the dawn
And a thousand pikes were flashing by the rising of the dawn

All along that singing river that great mass of men was back
High above their shining weapons flew their own gold and black
Death to Evil foes and traitors! Whistle out and march up on
And hurrah for Light and Fire, 'tis the rising of the dawn

'Tis the rising of the dawn, 'tis the rising of the dawn
And hurrah for Light and Fire, 'tis the rising of the dawn

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Ero, in the year 688 AF.
