An ode

Hail the Dawn!
That's what you cry.
Yet you hail from Vengeance,
An eye-for-an-eye.

Open the door,
Let in the Light.
Hope that it blinds them,
To weaken their fight.

Compassion and Mercy,
Are lost arts it seems.
Since you'd hate to be measured,
As an old Shallamese.

Though Redemption rings out,
From between those tight lips.
It is instead only offered,
With closed fists and quips.

That which you practice,
Is smash, kill, and pillage.
And it's not what you preach,
To bring Light to the villains.

Now let us be honest,
There is no hope in sight.
Only turning a blind eye,
To the Wrongs you call Right.

You sit on your high horse,
And label the masses.
With oh-so-kind titles,
Such as Heathens and asses.

But take care to look inward,
The soul does not lie.
And yours is as black,
As the deep sea at night.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Chronos, in the year 693 AF.
