Not a poem, but a song.
If you know the tune ... sing along.

Please advise, friend Silence
-----------------------------

Hello Silence my old friend,
here I sit with you again.

To ponder problems so burning,
it leaves my mortal mind reeling.

And the problem, that is stuck within my brain,
leaves just disdain.

So please advise, friend Silence.

Concern and care they all have shown,
but fail to see whence roots have grown.

Blinded by what must be pride,
they push the simple, hard truth aside.

Ignored I stand, chastised in a losing fight,
against venomous spite.

Please do advise, friend Silence.

The honest truth they do ignore,
not heeding friends not anymore.

Debating issues without thinking,
so much talking without solving.

Those problems deep,
that every city share.
And those who dare,
are met with all,
but violence.

"Please!" I say, "You do not know."
"Roots of sandess here do grow."

"Please hear me, I do have a thought,
that might just leave you less distraught."

But my words, on sarcastic ears do fall.

I need your advice, friend Silence.

Now they turn around and play,
that there horrid game they made.

Seeking blame for not partaking,
in endless raids and defiling.

Citing oaths in the news while quoting torn, old and dusty scrolls,
or words on stones.

So please do advise, friend Silence.

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Mayan, in the year 703 AF.
