Poetry News Post #4990

The Death of a city.

They are the Archons who dont do anything, as Ashtan's freedoms fall,
Adventurers no longer pick them, and they hardly ever post at all.

Corsairs and Witches kept the streets safe from any hue and cry,
Now demented Skyscourge watch the people, as tenticled rats go rushing by.

Ashtan's Soldiers now dont do anything, they are at the monsters beck and call,
When they're raided the Archons tell them, no don't defend at all.

Jy'Barrak Dameron the Overseer is not an adventurer at all.
Those who protest soon vanish, as Ashtan's freedoms fall.

There is a rumbling in Martin's sorrow where revolts start to grow,
That these choices will end in ruin for the city that ruin sought to sow.

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Daedalan, in the year 704 AF.
