Ray of Light

Lost at sea I was, upon a journey nigh
Destined to get to shore, lost, I did sigh
Yet there upon the waves, upon the distant sky
I saw a beautiful beam of a distant glorious light

Stunned I looked at the light in fear
Hope that would be torn, I eased self near
As I got closer, my ship tossing on the waves
The bright light revealed the threats that it saved

The many ships upon the water pirates be
Fear for self and for ship I did turn and flee
The light suddenly did not dim but burned ever bright
The pirate ships scattered at her glorious saving light

I thank the stars that guided me
That day far out at the treacherous sea
For the Light that burned so bright and pure
I shall be praising ever this day and much more

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Scarlatan, in the year 704 AF.
