Falling

Wind rushes by without a second glance
Leaves rustling no second chance
Ground approaches this will hurt
Body crashes upon the dirt

Never look up lest you fall down
Never act up lest you be the clown
Never step out of line no matter the stakes
Never stop no matter the heartaches.

Each day passes by without a care
Forever searching with a blank stare
Always listening never backing away
On this rigorous path I'll stay

A new day approaches will it be the last?
Days are gone, did they have to go so fast?
Months turn to years forever the same
It's not for the glory, it's not for the fame

Some paths are walked for duty alone
Some paths for sinners to atone
My path is walked with a light tread
A pain to echo through the halls of the dead

New challenges bring new choices
Never ending doubtful voices
The demons echo inside us all
They know our journey, they make us fall.

Penned by my hand on the 1st of Phaestian, in the year 713 AF.
