Outside Looking In

I see dreams of memories and times gone by
Old friends, family, I now see from the outside
Dreams I used to have, I used to see
Now are gone, a whisper of wind, fleeting

Nowhere to hide, nowhere to go
All I have left is memories of times ago
From the Outside I gaze upon the past
Wondering, why didn't it last?

Just as soon a breeze comes my way
Enchanting me, telling me, "Please, stay.
For from the Outside you see in one way too
But living through it was different for you."

"For only in the present can you truly see
That this path you walk upon was mean to be
From the Outside you see clearly the errs of the past
Little One, listen, take heed, don't make this your last."

From the Outside I turn my gaze upon the way
The path that I walk upon, I choose to stay
Each step will create a lovely memory
It is from the Inside that I can live fully.

Penned by my hand on the 6th of Valnuary, in the year 715 AF.
