Memories

Memories are tempting me
Reminding me of what used to be
How things were supposed to be
Luring, enticing, exciting

Memories, shadows of the past
Never were they meant to last
Yet into their embrace I am cast
Wondering, how long can I hold fast

Memories, they are so endearing
Ever closer, ever nearing
Bright, white hot, searing
Burning my thoughts, clearing

Memories, how I closer this
One more moment, pure bliss
Their hold I cannot dismiss
Smiling, as I leave the abyss

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Chronos, in the year 716 AF.
