The Beat of the War Drums

Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
The beat of the war drums go like that
They take away what you know
Throw it into the unknown
Like a reed you are brought low
The seeds of war have been sown

Clash. Clash. Clash. Clash.
Arrows fly. Swords clash.
Mother against daughter
Friend versus friend
Son against father
Will this war ever end

Sigh. Laugh. Cry. Cheer.
This war brings all near.
We share a drink as we rest
Healing, fixing, preparing
This is what makes us best
Proving our courage and daring.

Penned by my hand on the 17th of Ero, in the year 718 AF.
