Through A Looking Glass

As I gaze through the looking glass
I see hazy images from the past
I see visions of things from times of old
I see memories, clear and fuzzy, pale and bold
I see the way things used to be
I see a distant, faint memory
I see a gel staring back strangely at me
I see her confusion, her pain, her uncertainty
Her eyes have lost their hopeful gaze
No longer does the pain ever go away
I wipe the looking glass and look again
I see a gel strong, certain, at me staring
I see strength and courage and heart
I see resolve never to part
I see knowledge and lessons that had been learned
I see the scars and memories that had been earned
I see someone strange looking at me
As I turn my gaze away from the looking glass finally

Penned by my hand on the 14th of Sarapin, in the year 719 AF.
