Lullaby of the Bereaved

The sun is low in the sky,
The waters are calm in the deep.
Please, my dear, don't cry.
Just close your eyes and sleep.

All that was asked you have done,
And the colours now fade from the west.
Your reprieve is a deserved one,
So close your eyes and rest.

You smiled all of your smiles, my love.
All of your tears you did cry.
One last prpayer to the Gods above,
Just hold my hand and die.

His familiar presence won't greet you,
But this treatise They will not break.
To lead you, I know not Who,
But your soul is Theirs to take.

Theirs to lead, Light or Dark.
Theirs to lead to your rest.
Reject not the offered mark,
For you, they will do what's best.

High or low, far or near,
Seven hells or heavens bright.
Walk on, dearest, have no fear.
I'd find you in the darkest Night.

I will find you when the Gods
Judge me finished in this plaace.
I swear you this, against all odds,
Again you'll see me, face to face.

Penned by my hand on the 23rd of Glacian, in the year 724 AF.
