Public News Post #19627

A quiet conversation

I must admit that it has taken me some time to slog through the last 25 years of public news. The public news boards is a venue that I absolutely abhor. It is frought with grandstanding, brinkmanship, verbal abuse, and generally uninformed opinion. Any normal thread of conversation on public news usually gives me a pounding headache behind my eyes. But after 25 years of blather, my head seems ready to explode.

I do have to admit that I find it comical to hear from so many of you that wish to weigh in about Good, about what it is, what it should be, and what it clearly is not. We have heard from those who have never once sought out an honest conversation about Good. We have heard from those who have broken their oaths to Good. We have heard from those who have broken their oaths to just about every faction in this realm and, in time, are expected to break their current oaths. We have heard from those who are currently sworn to Good, yet still confused about what our mission is. We have heard from those who merely wish for everybody to shut their traps. And finally we have heard from a few who have it right, but have had their voices lost in the din.

Caoimhaen,

I have read your apology on these boards and found it to be heartfelt and sincere. It took some great strength to post such an apology. I commend you for having the will to apologize in such a forum after your name has been bandied about so much.

Now, truth be told, I am no voice of the Bloodsworn. While I serve as Rasul of the Lightbringer, I have no great influence over Her or the Righteous Fire. I am merely a servant sworn into Their service. They have no need of my opinion, since They have the power to examine your actions and judge your words of apology.

However, should your motives be sincere and your intentions be to move toward some form of reconciliation, I would seek to have a quiet conversation with you for the purpose of helping you along that path. My prayer would be that we could bring about restoration and healing in spite of all the blather and noise.

I would also extend a similar offer to Laurie, though her silence may indicate that her hope in Good is shattered beyond restoration. I, having never met her, cannot say one way or another what her intentions may be.

Indeed, I would offer a similar invitation to any of you that truly seek redemption. This kind of thing is not found on the public news boards. It is found in quiet and sane places. As often as not, redemption can be found over a cup of tea, believe it or not.

I remain, as ever, in the service of Light.

Bahtell Muk'tar,
student of Redemption
