The Asterian Restoration

Hail,

An eon ago, the Seleucarian Empire stood as the pinnacle of mortal accomplishment, founded on the dreams of Nicator and the genius of Severian, strengthened by the brilliance of leaders like Catarin deSangre.

With the fall of Seleucar and the sundering of Sapience, those who remained on the new continent of Meropis faced unimaginable dangers, fighting until they found ways to live in tenuous peace. Unfortunately, much of the knowledge gained by the Empire was lost or set aside in the process, irrelevant to the Meropians' everlasting battle for survival.

Yet what was lost is not forgotten.

From the inundated valley where the duchy of Aster Malik once stood, the Asterian Restoration heralds the dawn of a renewed legacy of learning and knowledge on the continent of Meropis. Institutions like the Ingram Cairo Memorial Library and the Theatron Meropian form a foundation for free exchange of ideas unfettered by the boundaries often imposed by citizenship and faith. We do not disregard service to the various mortal and Divine ideals present in the world, instead electing to learn from each other as we view the world through the unique lenses afforded to us by our differing experiences.

The Asterian Restoration was founded with the goal of offering all the opportunity to learn regardless of their origins or allegiances, and it is our hope that we are not alone in this belief. Knowledge is meaningless when hoarded and hidden in dusty tomes; it must be spread, shared, and survived.

For those who wish to support our cause, we accept donations. Those who contribute to our efforts will receive appropriate benefits and recognition as we expand further. Please inquire with one of the founders for further information.

The Aster Crossroads may be found where limestone bluffs separate the yellowed grasslands and the rocky beaches upon the Asterian Peninsula. We will hold an opening ceremony in front of the athenaeum when the Orphean Serenade sounds on the tenth of Ero in 678 AF. All are welcome to attend, and we look forward to your visit.
