I wish to name you: Friend.

Dear Targosian,

I understand that there have been harsh words and actions between our leaders, and as befit good citizens, we stand with and support them.

But I do need to ask:

Are you deaf to the cries of the chipmunk? Why do you seem blind to the tears of the trees? Has the loss of Shallam so frozen your heart, that you are unmoved by the cries of despair, emanating from the most defenceless of beings in creation? Please explain to me, how your actions are any different to those of the Worldreaver? How can you claim to be a guardian of creation, if you fail to protect the most innocent of innocent?

Make no mistake Targosian, I wish to name you Friend, I wish to count you as Ally. But your continued, willful destruction of the things I'm sworn to protect, makes this hardly possible.

Can you not see your way open to building in harmony with Nature? Are you so in love with stone and steel, that you can not open your mind to building with living Oak and Maple? Battlements of bamboo, could serve you far better than any amount of granite.

With every foot of pavement you lay, you destroy the home of hundreds of Natures smallest, most critical workers. Do they not deserve your respect? Are they so small in your mind, that their homes are sacrificed so you may have one?

Targosian, I'm not one to deny you your home, your shop, or place of worship. But I beg you, learn how to have these things without demanding the sacrifice of beings whom have no defence against you.

Why build a temple of marble, when you have spectacular views of the ocean to preach in? Why separate yourself from the beauty of creation, with walls of stone?

Eleusis is nothing, if not evidence that you could have all the amenities of a city, without tearing down what has already been created for you. Training a sapling to form a windbreak, is no more expensive than building a wall, and with the right assistance, no more time consuming. Look at Eleusis Targosian, do you see how we have expanded? Did you hear the protest of so much as a single ant while we did so?

I do not deny you your livelihood and well earned luxuries Targosian, but I will demand that you are mindful of those who have to sacrifice so you may have it. Thus, when you find you have no choice but to destroy what already exists, you could at the very least perform the rites required, to ease the pain of those creatures who have to sacrifice on your behalf.

I beg of you Targosian, change your ways. Learn to build within the Cycle of Life. Do not invite Cataclysm!

I want to call you Friend, I want to name you Ally, but your current course will see blood between brothers.

Please, heed this call, speak to your elders, gather your leaders. Show them there are better ways.

We can still mend this!
