The Harp of Creation

Targossas:

Glacian was the month your theocratic powers charged me with heresy, blasphemy, and treachery in my Cyrenian citizenship. To these, I could only plead guilty to the crime of Cyrenian citizenship. To these, I could only be found guilty of the crime Cyrenian citizenship. My sentence is excommunication and enemy status to Targossas.

The crooked rays of Targossian justice scorched me, a 21-year-old priestess and an innocent servant of Creation. I have never slewn what the Bloodsworn consider an innocent or colluded with forces opposed to Them, or preached in opposition to Them. I am found guilty. Horrors you find deplorable pervade Achaea. I am your target. Shrines to your enemies stand proudly from fen to meadow across sapience. I am your enemy.

I was held to an ever-changing standard of Good of which I was never taught. How the most rigid philosophers of Good have revised as time has gone forward! No one in the Diaspora spoke with me save for the Deacon. I was judged against a book I have never seen despite at least three other outdated books existing in its stead.

I learned every lesson of the Priesthood from the celebrated Halos in brilliant halls of the Temple of Lord Deucalion. I was found to have failed these lessons, and he was of my judges.

The Harp of Creation, a symbolic instrument whose strings ring with the harmony of Order, belongs not to a city or a faction but to the nature of our realms. Devotion is a magical resource that draws on it, as all magical resources do. While Devotion's floodgate remains planted firmly within your walls, protected by Light and Righteousness, know and believe that it is not the exclusive conduit.

Awake!

Aminah

Penned by my hand on the 24th of Glacian, in the year 682 AF.
