Greetings Sapience,

In my rather long time in Sapience, I have been a member of Lord Aegis' Order for most of that experience. In all of this time, Lord Aegis' Order has been neutral. In fact, it is a basic tenet of His teachings that War is not dictated by location, time, space, or alignment. War is all encompassing and does not discriminate, or lean towards, any one city or ideology. While it is true that Lord Aegis has been patron of many cities, it has always been the case that members of His Order have come from any, and all. In fact, it was not all that uncommon, in the past, that members came from warring factions. For that reason, if you are considering joining the Army, keep this in mind. The Order will not ask you to choose sides, nor is that His intent.

With that being said, the central teachings of Lord Aegis seem to be yet unclear to many. In Lord Aegis' Order, the primary focus is Warfare, but this is not simply related to martial prowess or the ability to subjugate or destroy your opponent. The faith of Aegeans should not be misconstrued as that of the Matsuhaman. This means that members of the Army are chosen for a variety of skills, not just combat. For instance, the Army has those that are good at locating supplies, espionage, strategy or tactics, bards (to sing our Victories), and warriors (of course). The Order of War aspires to Victory and the mechanisms to supply this outcome are various.

The Order of Warfare has already had many promising aspirants step forward. If you have questions about joining the Army, or would like to pursue study into His teachings, contact either myself or Jamethiel. If you wish to support the Order, or Warfare, but do not have interest in joining or pursuing study, you may also offer at one of the many shrines located throughout sapience.
