The Black Wave

Greetings, Sapience.

I write to you now not as the voice of Mhaldor. I do not deign to speak for my city mates or for our Tyrannus. This letter is of my thoughts and my thoughts alone. However, I wish to speak in regards to the standings of the Coalition versus the City of Mhaldor.

I will not pretend that our city relations have ever been particularly good. We are the Great City of Evil, the home of Lord Sartan and the practitioners of his Truths. Our methods create the true pathways to success and power, but obviously others do not see it that way. I will be brief when I say that we do not like you, and you do not like us. What I wish to speak of however does not require any modicum of friendship.

The Tsol'teth are the real threat here. They seek to enslave us, destroy us, and conquer our lands. No city is safe from them, no ideal or Divine worship or even notion of faith will be spared if they take over. We tried being part of the Coalition and that went south very quickly. Speaking personally, I do not want to be invited back into your little partnership, for there are far too many loud-mouthed heathens calling the shots for me to have any faith in the success of the mission. I do not seek the help of other cities and I highly doubt anyone will seek our help either. But perhaps a ceasefire might be the best option here.

Just for a moment, I implore you to think. Think about what will happen if we are so busy fighting each other that when the times comes to fight the Black Wave we are tired and our ranks are broken from battle. The future of the realm rests in the hands of those who can silence the blood-hungry and the rage-filled and can see that survival will not be achieved by turning our attentions away from the enemy.

I am not looking for a truce. I am not looking for peace. I am striving for salvation, in whatever form it comes in.
