With the end of June, the second Quarterly Arts contest has come to a close. If you submission was not in before this post, it will not be considered in the voting to come. As a reminder, the winning submissions will be announced by July 31st. It is now time to announce the theme, and a special stipulation that comes with it.

Quarter 3 Theme: History

Additional Rules: For this quarter, we want to encourage your painters and storytellers of the land to delve into the history of Imperian, and to show us with words or images an event from the past. This can be any world, guild, city, council, towne, order, or cult/sect event. Books from libraries may also be used, but only if they carry the history category.

You must pull from an existing source of history (news post or books), and you must cite from where you pulled your inspiration. If it is from a news post, tell us. If it is from a book, let us know which book. Put it either as the title or within the descriptive section of the submission box. Writers, make a note of it at the beginning or end of your works if you do not wish it in the title.

We decided that after giving you a free quarter, we would give you a bit of a challenge this time around. We challenge you to pass on bits of Imperian history others may not know about through your creative abilities, and to let us know more about where we can learn of this history if we find it as interesting as you do.

Here are some examples to help you get started:
(Written) What was it like to be a guard on the towers in Kinsarmar as the Patron Lord fell defending it (Events News: 193)
(Art) What did the first glimpses of Ithaqua look like to Tsinghahla through the pass he found (Events News: 30)
(Either) Write about or illustrate Loegaire Bharathian as he studies the effects of nature when Dun Valley was destroyed (Book, Caanae library. #5427)

We look forward to seeing your submissions,
Sifka and Ashvani

Penned by my hand on the 22nd of Letum, in the year 51 AM.
