Portal Message Clarifications

Hello again,

A note of clarification on the cost of wand message customization:
Each message EXCEPT the description has a cost of 15 credits, and are submitted automatically when you create them.
The description is NOT submitted automatically, and you must enter all three parts of the description before submitting it. The cost for the description is 15 credits TOTAL, not per message, and the fee is taken when you submit the description for approval.

There has also been some confusion about what the different parts of the description are. The names for the description messages are the same as for crafted items:
APPEARANCE: This is the short description of the item. If the item is held, it's used for the item in the inventory list. It's also the name of the item on INFO HERE, and is used as part of the enter/exit messages for the portal.
DROPPED: The way the item looks in the room. This is shown if someone LOOKs.
EXAMINED: The full description of the item, seen if it is probed or otherwise examined.

We're willing to allow you to be fairly liberal with your messages, as long as they make sense and make sense with the portal movement message (which is not configurable). Normal artifact customization rules apply, which means they can't be completely outlandish, but they can be magickal or otherwise non-mundane.

For reference, the portal Enter and Exit messages (shown when you ENTER PORTAL) are:
<name> steps through <portal appearance> and is gone.
<name> emerges into the room from <portal appearance>.

As always, any additional guidelines we may make in the future, and information about special variables, can be found in HELP CUSTOMIZED MESSAGES.

Hope that helps!
