Deciding that Khandava did not wish to work with the Tomas, the miners, and their allies, Lionas sought out his own way to bypass the process and reach the main temple ahead of the others.

With the aid of Lyria, Lionas took a branch from the Leech Tree and planted it north of the desert in the Hillside wood. Nourishing the sapling with bodies of the dead, the tree quickly grew to full strength, its foul roots creeping out toward the temple. Lionas and Aleutia continued to feed the roots with bones and the rotting corpses of those they killed.

Unknown to Aleutia, an individual found the location of the tree by following her in secret. Just who was that person anyways?

Once the tree was located and its purpose divined, the battle between those helping the miners, and those feeding the Leech Tree, intensified. The army of Khandava and its allies repeatedly raided the temple, killing the miners, and those protecting them. Likewise those in the tunnels repeatedly launched assault after assault on the Leech Tree.

Penned by My hand on the 22nd of Aequitas, in the year 675 AD.
