At journeys end,
to which my friend,
I must bid you all adieu.

For my path was long,
to long I've been gone,
to return home back to you.

I have learned a great deal,
about the way I feel,
for living alone in solitude.

You learn to adjust,
because you know you must,
and so I must bid you all adieu.

Farewell my friend,
my journeys reached an end,
my path no longer free.

To walk on for miles,
gathering triumphs and trials,
I haven't the energy.

Though ahead there's no track,
I can see the way back,
the long way back to you.

But I haven't the heart,
like I did at the start,
so my love I must bid you adieu.

----------------------

Penned by my hand on the 19th of Ferinus, in the year 608 AD.
