Awakening Zvoltz the Elder God

It was Estar when an echoing of strange chants filled the ears of the
Basin. From the Havens, Mysrai, Doom of Spires, descended on Avechna's
Peak, joining a growing crowd of Hallifaxians at the Seal of Justice.
They proclaimed that "the veil was thin". Shedding the gargantuan form
of the Doom of Spires, the Black Star of Morning spoke to the Seal as if
it were Zvoltz, the Architect. As the Seal crackled, She spoke once more
of "IKIL ARR HA" - Iklara - to the gathered mortals.

Finally, the Goddess revealed the retreat of Isune, the Aesthete, to the
contemplation of Beauty, far from the matters of mortality. However,
Mysrai said, there was a statue built by Isune before her departure, and
with it, a spire in the Skarch Desert - an opening through to Iklara
where Zvoltz waited.

Vanishing, Mysrai soon reappeared within the newly revealed spire,
outside of the Night Market. They instructed the mortals to spill blood
on the sands at Their feet. As the Goddess lingered in the spire, a
single apostate of Their Order - Eritheyl Somnius - spoke lingeringly of
lost Iklara, and of black stars, quoting incoherent verses from the lore
of the Beloved.

The mortals quickly set to work to save the Architect, taking to hunting
grounds throughout the Basin and even the far Astral Plane. Ixion of
Magnagora, Tremula Windwhisper, and Marcella n'Lochli gathered others,
slaughtering scores of beasts.

Within less than a day, the hunting parties returned. In an eerie echo
of other times, Kalas Ixion was the one to cast the last corpse to the
strange golden and purple sands. Light blossomed, and a portal opened -
a portal into a chamber long sealed, in a place called Iklara.

In that place was Zvoltz, the Father of Storms, who was not pleased to
see Mysrai. Speaking of the freedom of Zvoltz and Their Sister, the
Black Star of Morning soon took issue with Zvoltz calling Their Sibling
an it. Within moments, the Cosmic Plane of Iklara became the
battleground of the Siblings.

As the Gods battled high above the broken land, the past began to
intrude into the present. Images of a whole and healed Iklara, and of a
meeting with a delegation of gods revealed themselves - so too did a
betrayal, as those gods first shook the hand of the Architect, and then
turned on Zvoltz. Past and present met and melded as the Architect
sought to destroy the Thousandfold. As Mysrai was driven back across the
sky, so too did They appear from the past, side by side with Their
Sibling as a third Iklaran Goddess was revealed - only to be stuck down
by the alien Gods.

Pitched battle continued between the Siblings as Their forms began to
melt away, revealed as something brilliant and Other. Zvoltz became a
raging, primal storm of energies unconfined by any form, while Mysrai
became a star-filled Void. Even as Their forms were shed, so too did
Mysrai shed Their form, raising Their arms.

And from above, the horrified mortals saw the incoming Cosmic Plane of
Moraevi as, within the past, Mysrai tore reality asunder and merged one
plane with another.

A vast blastwave swept through Iklara, killing all within as the Cosmic
Plane of Moraevi simply melded into it. The Gods simply burnt away into
nothing, Their forms lost to the merging of past and present, Iklara and
Moraevi.

In the aftermath, there was only silence.

Penned by My hand on the 25th of Dioni, in the year 417 CE.
