The Dauntless

With the changes to the Quisalis and Ivory Mark organisations, we've seen a marked improvement in terms of contract completion. This is something we're very pleased with, as in character resolution has taken a massive upswing as a result.

However, the exclusivity of the Marks did have one unfortunate downside; the removal of a general purpose open pk organisation.

We're happy to bring you The Dauntless to fill that role, an entirely new organisation we have high hopes for. All the details can be found in HELP DAUNTLESS, but I'll note that The Dauntless and Mark organisations are not exclusive; the bloodthirsty among you may join both. Of particular note, members of The Dauntless (like members of the Mark) may attack infamous adventurers at any time.

Additionally, this change comes alongside a major adjustment to pvp-related experience loss. We're very mindful that experience loss can be a major deterrent for new people who want to get into player killing. Therefore, your maximum attained experience is now recorded. If you fall below that point, any kill against another player shall credit you with 10% of the difference between your current experience amount and your total ever attained (as well as the standard experience gain). Members of The Dauntless will gain 20% of this deficit per kill, while members of either the Quisalis or Ivory Mark will gain 25% of this deficit. Your highest bonus is applied; these do not stack. There is also a cap (on the amount restorable), though this should not be encountered through normal play. However, losing multiple levels with the intention of gaining them back this way is not advised.

We'll be closely monitoring these values in the coming days, to ensure everything is in a good spot.
