The Great Balance

Greetings,

With the recent events, this land has witnessed the loss of some of its
most iconic figures, from Ashaxei's to those of divine, one of which was
a founding member of the Pentad. That this would come about indicates
that once again, forces are present which prove themselves more powerful
than could initially be imagined. In times such as these, logic
necessitates that much information need be gathered about the threat
prior to an attempt at negating it. A few divine have perished, for us
to learn that lesson. Do not make Their deaths have been in vain.

That Lord Daedalus should appear in the midst of these troubled times
should have been a clear sign that something big was happening. The
Guardian only steps in when He feels the need is great, that the Balance
may be upset in a great way. Things will always happen in which upset
the Balance, and just as these things do not happen of their own accord,
it takes action to set things right again.

A few of you may remember nearly a century ago, the sermons I offered in
regards to Balance. It is necessary for all we see around us to thrive.
I invite all interested to review the written work of The Great Balance,
which is available in Ashtan's library. For those enemied, I will work
to make a copy of this available in more public places as well.

To those who serve this new god, Bal'met, I offer a warning. You expect
that with prostrating yourself before Him, that you will find the glory
and power that is needed to rise to long sought positions of the past.
Your successes and failures lie in your own hands, not the god of whom
you play marionette to. You can be nothing more than sustenance for such
a being, nothing more than a means to an end.

You will be used up and cast aside the moment you cease becoming useful,
because after all, failure cannot be tolerated. You lead yourself to
your own ruin, not strength, behind such a Herald of Destruction.

That the Guardian has perished does not mean that His legacy and lessons
have been lost with him. They have been carried for years in His
absence, and will continue to be for centuries to come. No matter which
way the Balance tips, or even staggers, there always comes a time in
which it must tip in the other direction, even if only for a time.

This conflict is not one to be won by a war among the Divine, it is to
be fought by the mere mortals, and the ones with courage, strength, and
cleverness. Cunning tactic and carefully planned strategy to counter
brute force and ruthlessness.

No matter the result, if you fight in this conflict take care not to
become a reflection of that which you fight.

Regards,

- Kresslack De'Verres
