The tradition of slavery in Mhaldor is one steeped in both practical and theological importance. Whereas other cities coddle their children and simply expect them to grow in strength, Mhaldor would much rather throw them into a crucible of hellfire. From trials and tribulations, we believe that they are made to grow stronger, recreated in the image of the Master and His Truths, and thus finally worthy of true Mhaldorian citizenship.

If you believe that you are capable of pulling yourself out of the forge of slavery by the straps of your boots, then listen to me, and listen well: the fires are well-stoked, and crave their fill of mortal souls.

Forty years ago to the day, the Crucible of Slaves was graciously hosted by the Prophet Nizaris, whereby three slaves will earn their freedom in the period of three short years. Now renewed afresh to the times of the present, the rules of the ring of fire have been somewhat adjusted; I implore you to make sure to pay attention, lest you miss an opportunity.

The prizes shall be as follows:

1st Place: Mhaldorian favour to the rank of Troni, and 50 city credits.
2nd Place: Mhaldorian favour to the rank of Troni, and 25 city credits.
3rd Place: Mhaldorian favour to the rank of Troni, and 10 city credits.
4th-10th Place: 5 city credits each.

It should be known that any who manage to be promoted to Troni within the three year period of the event will receive a single city favour, in addition to their earned credits.

Points may be earned in one of two ways: Individual completion of tasks to benefit the Holy City, and victory in certain events.

INDEPENDENT TASKS:

Advancement to HR7: 50 points
Advancement to HR5: 30 points
Converting a non-novice: 20 points
Advancement to HR3: 15 points
Sermon or ritual: 10 points
Holding event of choice: 10 points
Scholarly essay: 1-10 points (submit via letter to Melodie)
Converting a novice: 5 points
Earning an HONOURS DEEDS: 5 points
Posters of Propaganda: 5 points per poster.
Attendance at an event: 3 points
Defiling heathen shrines: 3 points per shrine.
Victory in a spar: 3 points
Participation in a raid: 2 points
Misc. service/errands: 1 point
Gathering Troll/Mhun Slaves: 1 point per slave. See CHELP SLAVING for instructions. A maximum of 30 slaves may be submitted per participant.

All independent tasks must be witnessed or recorded by a member of Mhaldor that is ranked Troni or above.

*Any 'events' must not be a sermon or ritual.
*Limit of five posters per slave.
*Opponent must be no more than 30% below the slave's present might for sparring victories.



ESSENCE BRACKETS FOR INDIVIDUALS:

Due to the variety of experiences among our slaves of potential, points granted to individuals from offering essence to the Master has been split into three brackets. It should be noted that in all brackets, the 50 point cap is the maximum points able to be earned via offerings.

Note well: ONLY essence offered by the slave counts, and these corpses should have been slaughtered by your own hand. If you are found to be obtaining corpses from other sources that is not your own power, the punishment will be severe. Hunting with a partner or in groups is permitted, but you should still only use the corpses you obtained yourself (they should not hand you their own).

Levels 1-80

1 point per 100,000 essence, up to one million.
10 points for one million.
30 points for three million.
50 points for five million.

Levels 81-98

1 point per 200,000 essence, up to two million.
10 points for two million.
30 points for six million.
50 points for ten million.

Levels 99+

1 point per 400,000 essence, up to four million.
10 points for four million.
30 points for twelve million.
50 points for twenty million.

Surprise events: Who knows what one may encounter in these trials?

PROJECT 507 will be used to keep track of progress, while PROJECT 509 will hold full rules.

The Crucible of the Slaves is scheduled to begin on the 1st of Sarapin, 676 AF, and will run until 25th of Mayan, 679 AF. Unlike the previously held event, slaves of ALL ages and might may enter. No matter your youth or wisdom, however, the challenges to be faced are great indeed, and only the most determined will win the loosening of their shackles.
