Peoples of Sapience,

Just over a year ago, events set in motion long ago came to an abrupt
climax. A great cataclysm struck Hashan, and the Crown of the Ithmia was
forever sundered. Though the circumstances were dire, Hashan endured, as
it always has, and yet persists amidst a wellspring of ancient and
terrible power.

Yet no longer content with merely enduring, Hashan has been reborn as
the Court of Shadows, infused with new passion and purpose. The Court
has taken up a solemn stewardship of this great power, carefully
regulating it for the benefit of all, and plumbing the deepest corners
of its nature to empower our own.

Such a great work requires many labourers, and thus, Hashan invites you
to join its court. The intellectual who seek to transcend the limits of
their own being. The independent who eschews the subservient sycophants
and thralls of the narrow-minded city-states. The ambitious rogues who
seek to carve out a their own fortune. The wanderers who seek something
greater than what the rest of Sapience has to offer will all find a
place in the new Hashan. Opportunity without limits awaits the daring,
the unfettered, and the enlightened.

The Court announces two new Great Houses, born from the Sundering of the
Crown with new focus: The Somatikos and the Krymenian Academy

The Somatikos serves the Court as guardians in many respects. Driven to
protect Hashan and its newfound source of power, they employ varied
means to secure it, whether it be as indispensible craftsmen and
engineers creating a robust infrastructure or deadly warriors taking up
arms to cut down those who would hinder the Court and its great work
from progressing. Together they ensure the material well-being of the
Court within and without.

Serving complementary, the Krymenian Academy is comprised of the
brightest scholars, ritualists, and, scientists the Court has to offer.
Together, they seek to master the myriad of powers and energies that are
woven through the Multiverse that they might relate them to the
wellspring that dwells below the city and release its true potential.
Together they ensure that these powers are not only controlled, but
mastered.

I pray that you would consider you lot in Sapience, as a fellow mortal,
and ponder if the work of the Court of Shadows is one you are fated for.
Doubtless, the work shall be done, but will you be able to look back and
boast that you had a hand in it?
