Announce News Post #2033

Teamviewer and Character Security

Written by: Galleus, the Voidseer

It has come to our attention that some players have been using remote
connection tools, such as Teamviewer, to assist others in setting up MUD
clients/systems. While we cannot actively police this, and while it can
be useful in some circumstances, you must be aware of the possibility of
abuse that comes from allowing others to log into your computer or view
your screen when you are entering your Aetolian login credentials. Be
extremely careful of who you permit to access your system with setups
like this. Accessing a character that is not registered to you is
grounds for immediate banning from Aetolia, but irreparable damage to a
character could result prior to this access being detected.

Penned by my hand on the 15th of Chakros, in the year 371 MA.
