The Binding

The pestiferous wanderings of the one known as Kvand were brought to an end by a frosted handful of Ithaquans. Zophael, the Heart of the Ironwood, Kevadrin Dolluson, Jazyra Dhevar, Adelena Mirirawen and Relg Bonecaster undertook a journey from the frozen north into the Areish mountains. The path brought them to the foot of the Blue Temple. A motley collection of others were in assembly, speaking to Kvand the Wandering who spoke pleasantly in turn to them.

Kvand invited the Ithaquans into the Blue Temple, a place which he claimed for himself. Within a pitch-black alcove Zophael built a fire. He had a group of plants and herbs in his hands and began speaking of them. Kvand laughed, believing he was hearing a lesson on flora when he was suddenly bound tightly with ropes and secured to Adelena. It was soon realized that Adelena was to die along with the wanderer. Relg Bonecaster was in possession of a golden ring, given to him by Jazyra Dhevar. The ring had been previously stolen from Kvand when Jazyra obligingly sent him to Dis. As Relg moved to throw the ring into the flames, Kvand snatched the ring up and tossed it to the flames himself. Speaking in an icy tongue, the shamans from the Pines completed the binding of the wanderer. The shade of a blue-eyed woman emerged from the wall, smiling at Relg Bonecaster as she gathered Kvand in her arms, disappearing into the walls with him.

To the disbelief and dismay of the others in attendance, the Ithaquans were stoic. The frozen sentinels declared the wanderer bound and departed for their cold abode.

Penned by my hand on the 15th of Halitus, in the year 643 AD.
