The Closing of Death's Door

With Marga's revelations about how Death's Door could be closed, humanity began their final preparations to slow the undead threat.

Determined to weaken Silantor by slaying the consuming bits of the hearts of his mighty strigoi, a force of anti-magickers rampaged through Demon's Pass and eventually brought the mighty lich down. Ozreas, Miles, Kira, Chelicrixkel, Septus, Xeron, Genjuro, and Kerina were all involved in the kill.

However, Septus, who had claimed the corpse of the lich, had not been made aware that the corpse would be required to seal Death's Door and instead offered it to the prophet Tobias. Tobias thanked him and rewarded him for the corpse, but this was not the award that the anti-magickers had been working towards.

Regrouping the following month, they instead struck out at Lhortae's stronghold of the Necropolis. Slaying his powerful wraith lords and absorbing their power, Shou, Ozreas, Karyn, Septus, Xeron, Kira, and Orianthi brought the second lich down.

Rallying reinforcements, Xeron brought the corpse of Lhortae and the lich's ancient bronze staff to the temple of the late Thanatos, handing them to Alesud. Alesud began the ritual to close Death's Door. The world waited and watched as the defenders of humanity forced back the undead that attempted to push the door open. Miles, Karyn, Orianthi, Xeron, Septus, Chelicrixkel, Kira, Genjuro, Ozreas, Shou, and Alesud were present for the entire ritual, and should be celebrated as the heroes they are for being the first to close Death's Door.

Death's Door is closed once again... for now. The power of Thanatos, the God of Death, had kept the door closed and the undead at bay, but His death now permits the spirits on the other side to hammer away at it. They will not relent. It is only a matter of time before it swings open again. Will you be ready?
