The Oath

For months Urzog sent his cultist into the world, slaughtering mortals in hopes to spread his "word."

Seeing that he had no intention to slow his attacks, Svorai stepped from the shadows and called to him. she threatened him, demanding that he stop lest she intervene. However, Urzog was not afraid of the Spirit, and called on her to strike up a deal with him.

Unable to trust his word, she went to Schrov'ik and began binding herself to the shadows and nature, calling on the darkness to carry out her bidding should Urzog break his word.

It was then Urzog left his throne room and met her in the garden, giving her ample time to back out of the plan. The Spirit, only caring for the protection of the world, made sure he would pay for his onslaught and vile followers. She whispered into the Darkness to hold him to his oath, and offered herself to him, allowing him to reach into her chest and rip out her heart.

Upon her death, her body turned to stone as nature and the shadows gathered her Spirit from her body, not granting the Scourge King the ability to feast upon her essence. Shortly after, they released a small portion in the form of marble lilies in Egeria forest, allowing mortals to gather her essence and gain strength, rather than to aide him.

With her essence, as with entities slain in the past, cults and sects may bind her remains to their altars, bolstering their sacrifices. But with her sacrifice, they may also bind those altars, binding the associated entity to their temple.

Knowing that she could indeed bind him to his throne worried Urzog. Luckily for him, however, Antioch is willing to look past their past interactions and have offered assistance to him.

Will an entity be bound to their temple? Or will mortals choose the essence to gain strength for themselves?

Penned by my hand on the 3rd of Fas, in the year 96 AM.
