Irony

Few to none will read this clever disguise
Mark it as wit or spit to despise,

Some will see this and think confusion
Maybe it's art or a pathetic illusion
As an attempt to draw attention or perhaps a curious eye,
It's rather odd and simply unwise,

But whether or not this is read
I don't mind having spent the time
Explaining poetically what it meant.

No clear rhyming or simple structure
Gives this rant a melodic pleasure
That could possibly tease the tongue or thought,
Maybe my sanity has been finally caught.

Finally I dismiss with a final stanza
Admitting no reason or clear agenda
That I simply give you time to think
If you observe what's around you or deliberately shrink
All hidden messages, puzzles, and even a hint,
All in all, my creativity is thin
Measured shortly and unwittingly so,
Just so you all should know.

Patience; key to understanding, and key to have read this far,
Observent and thoughtful; you know who you are.

-Cryptic Poet

Penned by my hand on the 16th of Bellum, in the year 600 AD.
