Hey Everyone!

Some of you might've noticed or been around earlier today when we had some rather exciting (and from the admin's point of view, utterly terrifying) stuff happen with MKO, shops, and the general ability to log into the game. We explained as we were fixing the issues what was going on via the forums (see link below), and all the big bad issues were fixed from a code stance, but we wanted to sorta explain briefly here for those of you who might not be into the forums.

Essentially, what began as a startling but easily fixed bug with bins deleting entirely from the game and suddenly removing all the items within them from the game (a bug quickly rectified and that would normally be fixed by us setting back the game back to a time before the bug erupted and load in the fix then), turned into a really harrowing adventure wherein Astalon, Prandur and I realized that the game hadn't been storing backup versions of itself since, well, February.

Collective bits of feces hit some fans, yes, but we managed to escape total disaster and fixed the 'backup' problem only to realize that we needed one of two deeply-useful and totally not near their computers members of the IRE team to verify our game again so we were able to let players log into it. This lead to about an hour of us pacing about, worriedly watching as the game refused to let more than 10 players log in at once.

Thankfully, heroes from Iron Realms staff arrived with really cool privileges and fixed that, allowing you all access to the game in greater numbers and us the ability to begin righting all the unfortunate wrongs in what we're now ruefully referring to as 'The Great Binpocalypse of 2013'.

Now over the initial wave of euphoria that you've not all come at us with pitchforks and all backups work properly, we are doing all we can to fix the big side effect of this event - many shops with bins had huge portions of their wares deleted, leaving shopkeepers in a lurch.

As we stated on the forums, this won't do and righting this is our priority. So, what this means is we're in touch with all the shopkeepers in the game and making sure they're compensated in commodities and items. We've met with many of them and sent letters and messages to the rest, and we're urging anyone we've somehow missed or anyone with old city logs of shop items to please email or message me as soon as possible. We know this is sort of traumatic and definitely tough on your finances and your customers, so the sooner we hear back, the sooner we can send along items and compensation to right this wrong.

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to email either me at or Astalon at or you can drop in on the forums post that we mentioned by visiting

Thanks, everyone, for your patience and words of support. We're eager to hear from shopkeepers so we can get back to the work of bringing you an awesome game.
